FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General Counseling Questions

2. What are your rates?

Our rates:

Individual Counseling: $150-$175/hr

Couples Counseling: $165-$190/hr

Rates depend upon therapist's experience and expertise level. All of our therapists have a master's degree, many years of experience, and have completed several hundred hours of focused training and mentoring.

4. Do you take insurance?

Our clients pay out of pocket (usually with a credit card), or they use their Health Savings (HSA) or Flexible Spending (FSA) Accounts. We do not directly bill insurance companies, and are “out-of-network" providers.

If you'd like to see if your insurance will fully reimburse or cover a portion of your sessions, you can call and verify with your insurance what your plan includes. If they do cover out a portion of out-of-network services, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

6. Do you offer in-person sessions?

Yes, we have a two separate in-person office locations in the United States located in Denver, Colorado and Fayetteville, Arkansas.

However, we conduct 90% of our sessions via secure online video across the United States and in a few other select countries. We are fortunate to live in a time where technology allows us to meet from just about anywhere. We've found this allows most people the flexibility to get the care they need when they need it. Virtual sessions also allow us to offer more time-slots in our schedule for you.

We believe the therapy that actually gets done (because its flexible enough to fit in your schedule without needing to get a babysitter, fight traffic, or find parking) is more effective than in-person therapy that only happens occasionally.

2. What are your hours?

All of our appointments are between the following hours:

Monday-Thursday

7:00am-5:00pm Pacific Time

8:00am-6:00pm Mountain Time

9:00am-7:00pm Central Time

10:00am-8:00pm Eastern Time

Friday

Appointments are often available during morning and early afternoon hours.

Available times are subject to each practitioner's current openings.

5. What types of clients do you work with?

We work with adults age 18+ and welcome and affirm clients of all races, cultures, sexual orientations, and religions. We aim to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere to everyone, and honor the personal belief-systems of each client.

We gladly meet with clients who are devout in their faith tradition and those who don't affiliate with any religion (and everything in between). We gladly meet with clients who are Democrat or Republican (and everything in-between). We are firm allies to the LGBTQ and BIPOC populations.

6. What states do you offer services ?

We currently offer online therapy in Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah.

We are excited about new legislation will be passed in 2024 that will allow us to more-easily see people from nearly all US states.

3. Do you offer discounts?
  • Yes, each therapist has a number of reduced-fee spots for clients with a true financial need (usually low, solo-income adults or families).

  • If we don't have any reduced-fee spots available, we are happy to send you referral ideas that may be a good match for your budget!

6. What do I need for virtual sessions?

(1) Zoom: Our sessions will be over Zoom (HIPPA-compliant and secure). Having the app downloaded prior to our time together will help us maximize our time together.

(2) Internet: A WIFI internet connection is preferred. If WIFI is unavailable, a 4G or 5G cellular connection can work.

(3) Headphones: Headphones are not required but we highly recommend using them. They offer some privacy and cut down on feedback between your speaker and microphone.

(4) Tripod for Phone: If you are connecting into your session with your phone, a small tripod to set your phone on during the session can help keep your camera stable.
